January 19 Fish Report

Last week, Tacoma Power recovered 165 coho adults, 13 jacks and 277 winter-run steelhead during five days of operation at the Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery separator.

During the week Tacoma Power employees released 14 coho adults, two jacks, two cutthroat trout and seven winter-run steelhead into the Tilton River at Gust Backstrom Park in Morton.

Tacoma Power employees released 45 coho adults, six jacks and 18 winter-run steelhead into Lake Scanewa, behind Cowlitz Falls Dam during the week.

During the week Tacoma Power personnel transported 40 early winter-run steelhead to the Cowlitz Trout Hatchery for brood stock.

A total of 101 steelhead were donated to the local food banks during the past week.

River flows at Mayfield Dam are approximately 11,200 cubic feet per second on Tuesday, January 19. River flows could change at any time so boaters and anglers should remain alert for this possibility.
